This is the book that really gave momentum to the resurgence of the Rapture perspective (for more books on the topic, see those by Thomas Ice, or the standard ones by Hal Lindsey, Walvoord, Randall Price, etc). This book was a Million Copy Best Seller, Back in the 1800s. People will seek to find explanations for the Rapture, but the books by C. Cumbey, or the Battle for the Bible by Harold Lindsell (Editor of Christianity Today) provide most of the real backround information. Instead of all the rumors, you can read it for yourself and make up your own mind. Most of this - for those who actually find out (instead of the hysteria), is mostly quotes from the Old and New Testaments. One either takes it literally or one does not. It will either be true or not. Some may wish for the Rapture, but this is one of the book that provides the details. Interesting for a rainy (or catastrophic) day.
