Gesenius monumental work of modern Biblical Hebrew critical philology, becomimg the foundation of much that followed unto this day. This work was the resource for which his lexicons in many editions and tranlations werre formed. The Thesaurus should be always available to compare the result of the lexicon that has become the standard. Unlike the Biblical Greek lexicons, having several fathers, Gesenius became the father of most of what is generally circulated.
