The Man From UNCLE : Magazine stories : 24 Novella Collection

The Man From UNCLE  :  24 magazine storiesOpen Channel 'D'... Created in 1964 in response to the popularity of the James Bond movies, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. tv show quickly became a cult hit all of its own. The popularity of the show was tremendous and made international stars out of the main cast. At one point, it was being seen in over 60 countries. There were eight spin-off movies released theatrically, a spin-off tv show (The Girl From UNCLE), and a mass of spin-off merchandising based on the series, including children's toys, a series of two dozen paperback novels, and a monthly magazine that ran for two years.Presented here are the twenty four novellas which appeared in The Man From UNCLE Magazine between 1966 and 1968.Published under the collective pen-name Robert Hart Davis, these stories are in fact by various different authors. Davis is a house pseudonym. The actual authors include Harry Whittington (who also wrote some of Ace's Man From UNCLE novels); Dennis Lynds; Talmage Powell; I G Edmonds; and the master of the pulp magazines, John Jakes.Between the 1930s and the 1960s a huge volume of pulp magazines, or 'pulps' as they were commonly known, were published each month in Britain and America. This magazine is one such. Eventually the pulps faded away due to the growing influence of television. The automatic player, above, sometimes shows only some of the magazines available here. The complete collection can be found at:   https://archive.org/download/man-from-uncle-magazine-storiesThere were 24 monthly issues of The Man From UNCLE Magazine, all of which are presented here.In addition, but not included here, there were 7 issues of The Girl From UNCLE Magazine. Hence there were 31 spin-off magazines published altogether, each containing one novella. I mention this only because, curiously, there seem to be 32 novellas in circulation, rather than the expected 31.I cannot trace the origin of number 32, The Deadly Agent Affair. It appears to be a Girl From UNCLE novella, but is not included in any of the known issues of The Girl From UNCLE Magazine. Nor is it listed as such in any of the standard reference sources for that show. I have included it here, as it might be an unlisted Man From UNCLE spin-off after all.Accordingly, this page actually contains 25 novellas, rather than the advertised 24. I thought it best to avoid creating confusion by claiming that there are more than 24 editions of The Man From UNCLE Magazine, given that novella #32 might not belong to that publication either! For a complete publishing history of that magazine in the 1960s, see -   http://www.philsp.com/mags/man_from_uncle.html   https://spyguysandgals.com/sgshowchar.aspx?id=589
