The EDWARD GOODMAN VIRTUAL ARCHIVE
Welcome
To The EDWARD GOODMAN VIRTUAL ARCHIVE
Edward
Goodman (1945-2024) was a time-serving solicitor. He was also an
anti-censorship activist, a talented artist, and an author. He served for
twelve years as a Labour councillor, but his real passion was history.I
knew Edward for thirty years and worked with him for over twenty years,
intensely since shortly after the death of the actor David Webb when he asked
me to set up The NCROPA Virtual Archive.
Six years later he asked me to set up the British
Prudery Archive. On
March 6, 2024, this was renamed The
Ted Goodman Prudery Archive.
In
2013, he started a blog which I maintained for him, and in April 2023 he purchased
a domain for a project concerned with numbers and history.
Shortly
after his death in what I can only describe as an act of malice, both the
website and the blog were deleted. The website was a work in progress and I
have the entire thing on my hard disk. I thought most of these blog posts had been lost, but in May 2024 I was able to recover them all; they can now be found on a separate page: https://archive.org/details/the-goodman-history-blog(I
have deleted from this page the posts first published here).
Edward’s
other projects were the publication of his mother’s memoirs, which we edited
together, and five major works of history which were added to this archive on August 6, 2024.These works are:The
Legendary Line Of Descent Of BRITISH RULERS (his
magnum opus)https://archive.org/details/goodman-works-line-of-descent-archive HIGH
PRIESTS & POPES; FROM ANTIQUITY TO PRESENThttps://archive.org/details/goodman-works-priests-and-popes-archive LEADERS
OF THE WEST: FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE PRESENThttps://archive.org/details/goodman-works-western-leaders-archive RULERS
OF ENGLAND: FROM ANTIQUITY TO PRESENThttps://archive.org/details/goodman-works-rulers-of-england-archive THE
JEWISH LINE OF SUCCESSION AND CHRONOLOGY: FROM ANTIQUITY TO THE PRESENT

Edward’s
mother was a remarkable woman who lived to the equally remarkable age of 106.
Recognising the uniqueness of her story, he encouraged her to dictate it to him
in her 90s. As his father also lived to a great age, 90, one would have
expected, hoped, he would have lived at least as long. Sadly, cancer had other
ideas.His
mother’s memoirs RELUCTANT NURSE The
Memoirs Of Marie Goodman (1915-2021) can be found here:
