Started around 2015 as a side project of Ninja Dentist, Retro Reading Time was an extremely ambitious project which sought out to preserve OOP novels and books as high quality Ebooks, notably video game, movie, and TV tie-ins which would otherwise have never received such a treatment. Even more ambitious was that he released two ebooks per week.Starting on Tumblr with ebook conversions of video game based novels such as Worlds of Power, the Nintendo Heroes books, and similar video game novelizations and tie-in books, Ninja Dentist branched out and started preserving tie-in novels for TV shows and films. This included both novelizations and original books set in the show/film's universe. Not to mention, nostalgic OOP books from the 80s and 90s.Eventually, a full website was created, which retained the twice a week release schedule. Ninja Dentist also started formulating plans for a 30th Anniversary anthology celebration of the Worlds of Power books, which involved fanfiction adaptations of NES video games, much like the original Worlds of Power books. While people did end up submitting stuff, such as adaptations of "NARC", "Dragon Power", and an adaptation of "Pac-Man", the project sadly never saw release. He was also planning a similar project entitled "Alternate Universe Media" which would have focused on novelizations of unmade film scripts, but that didn't even get announced.Eventually, due to his life becoming busier, the upload schedule soon shifted. Rather than 2 books per week, it shifted to a batch of various books coming out whenever they were ready for release. He additionally started to scan and preserve various comic books around this time, under the "Comic Grab Bag" format.However, his update on February 28, 2022 would turn out to be RRT's last. Soon after, the website would go down, taking down the entirety of RRT's preserved books and comics with it. Any attempt to contact Ninja Dentist has not been fruitful.I was once a contributor on the site. I started with contributing the Pac-Man novelization for the WOP 30th Anniversary celebration, then helped on some Nintendo and Lion King ebooks, and went on to help with the site in other ways. I still had access to the Google Drive housing the entire RRT epub/ebook catalog, which I downloaded, and am sharing here, as I feel this work deserves to be preserved/saved.Unfortunately, I didn't save almost any of the RRT comic releases, which weren't housed in the epub/ebook catalog. A few are saved here, but only a handful.
