The Secret and Lies of Church of Christ (Manalo) written by Dr. Melanio P. Gabriel, Jr. in 1981. FROM THE BACK COVER: A Short Biography of Dr. Melanio P. Gabriel Jr. Brother Mel, so happily called by Christians to Dr. Gabriel, was born on March 24,1937. He was born a member of Iglesia ni Cristo (Manalo) as an eldest child of Melanio S. Gabriel Sr. and Lulu dela Paz. Mel was orphaned at an early age to his mother - therefore the biggest part of taking care of his siblings was vested to him. He did his best to study well - even though he did not have provisions and books at school. He worked at a very young age (he was about 7 years old only). He experienced selling newspapers, bought and sell bottles and jars, sell ice drops, and other rice delicacies, he sold balot and penoy at night, became a bus conductor, and porter of goods of his aunt. He endured many sacrifices. Nevertheless he did not lose his sanity - he graduated at Torres High School (Gagalangin, Tondo) with honors. He became entrance at College scholar in U.P. Diliman. He graduated in medicine in U.P. P.G.H. in 1960 and he was top ten in Board Exams. In December 24,1961 he married Dr. Carolina A. Tiangco and was gifted by God with 4 children - Cherrie, Ronnel (Boyet), Melanie, and Jun-Jun (Melanio III). Dr. Carolina Gabriel is an obstetrician-gynecologist. From the start of opening of a clinic, it already became successful medical practice of the couple until it became bigger and bigger in Tugatog, Malabon and they established their own hospital (Ronn-Carmel Hospital - 115 M. Ponce, Caloocan City). Brother Mel handled different sensitive duties in Iglesia ni Cristo (Manalo). For example, be became: 1) Head of Youth (Organization of Happy Victory - KMP). 2) Unique Model Youth at KMP. 3) President of college and university (students) in INK. 4) Leader in organizing and first president in organization of married couples in INK (Buklod). 5) Head deacon on locale (congregation) of Caloocan. 6) Head deacon on locale of Malabon. 7) Head of head deacons, according to the officers in INK. 8) Manager of Secretariat that examines the works of pastors and ministers of INK (Metro Manila). Way back then, he fought for his false belief that Christ is a mere human being who was given different powers by God. It was instilled in his young mind that Felix Manalo is a messenger of God in last days - and no one will be saved except the registered members of INK. (That is why mostly Filipinos only will appear in heaven). He discovered and confirmed many abominable secrets, works and doctrines in INK - especially that he was indeed in the inner circle. But he closed his mouth until when the proper time comes. The contents of this book is not yet final and complete. Brother Mel has known the Lord and accepted Christ as Lord and personal Savior in April 1979. After that, he shared to different prayer groups his testimony and experience with the Lord . Together with other Christians, he established prayer meetings in Reach-Out Biblical House in Monumento, Caloocan in August 3,1979 that grew and continue to grow. The INK leadership issued a circular concerning the expulsion of Brother Mel and his household in August 1979 - "don't greet, don't talk..." Many criticisms and persecutions he endured but fought bravely the true Christian faith that enlightened him.
